Potato waffles are a delicious and easy way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. Crispy outside and fluffy in the middle. These potato waffles not only taste amazing, but they are a super fun meal to serve to your family.
They are a healthy alternative to the classic hash brown and make a great breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Serve them simply topped with soured cream and chives or fully loaded with toppings!
Ingredients:
- Potato (boiled & mashed) 2 cups
- Refined flour (sieved) ¼ cup
- Onion (finely cut) 1
- Garlic (chopped) 1 tbsp
- Eggs 2
- Black pepper (crushed) ¼ tsp
- Salt ¼ tsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Green onion for garnish
Method:
- Heat butter in a pot, fry onion & garlic for 5 to 7 minutes & remove from flame.
- Heat waffle iron, mix mashed potatoes with fried onion, flour, eggs, black pepper & salt.
- Pour a little potato mixture on waffle iron & cook with its lid covered.
- Cook until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Garnish with green onion & serve.
